Evens and Odds

Learning about evens and odds today in math.  An even number always has a pair, but in the odd number there is always an "odd man out".  My Firsties loved this lesson!

  1. We did this lesson yesterday, too! I think it was their favorite math lesson so far! Totally off topic, but I love the milk crate stools... super cute! You're gonna push me to post often, which I like. :) Great job, Jill!!!

  2. Awe, thanks Rhiannon! I know, any time I can get the kids physically involved, they eat it up. I love this lesson, too. Funny, it's pretty basic, but even my lower Firsties were making great connections and able to grasp this concept.

I have pre-cut wood for the crate stools if you want it. It was very easy and I'll give you my "left overs" if you want them. I think I have at least 6 or more pre cut wood squares. :)

  3. There are 2 cute books that I love to use called: My Even Day and One Odd Day. My kiddos love looking through them and hunting for all of the odd and even things in the pictures.

Thank you for hopping over. I would love to have you as a follower too. I always love to help with a give away so let me know if you ever need help. =)

    1. Heather, I love your blog! I am following and I just added your button to my Blogs I Follow list! Yippee!!!! You totally made my night by finding my blog. I'll totally check out those books. :o)

I also love the verse that you use for your profile. That was the verse that we had on our Youth Missionary Team shirts for our Nashville, TN trip. I pray everyday that God will keep my heart a servant's heart...Thank you, Heather!

  4. Jill, I feel so blessed to have found your blog. I think that has been one of my favorite things about blogging...I love when other teachers believe that God has placed them in the classroom so we can show others about His love. I know your kiddos are blessed beyond words to have you as their teacher. =)

Something weird must be happening with Blogger because I do not see your pretty and sweet little picture in my follow box. =(

I looked for my blog on your list when I clicked on your picture and it isn't there. =( =(

I am off to check out your *freebie*. =)

  5. Heather!!! Check it out now, I'm following! Gracious, I think my ADD was totally setting in today as I had a ga-jillion tabs open and was trying to figure out how to make my button look better. Then I got caught up clicking the "follow" buttons on TPT.

Your blog is on my list. I am now trying to figure out how to link my name to my blog...baby steps.

I was praying this weekend and you have made my day by finding my blog. One of the verses that comes to mind is Matthew 14: 23 "And after he (Jesus) sent the crowds away, he went up the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone."

We have to follow Jesus' model of stopping everything and spending time with our Father, just as he did. I look forward to finding all of your ideas from your blog as I continue to explore, and I will be praying for you that you will have joy and peace as we try to "do it all"! :) xxoo Enjoy your day tomorrow!

  9. We will be working on odd / evens soon too. I like that even's pair up and odd is the odd man out. :o) That shall help me.
